Q: What is window tinting?
A:
A laminate or plastic material with a self-contained adhesive system applied to the inside surface of the glass.

Q: Is window tinting allowed on all the windows of a vehicle registered in Missouri?
A:
Vehicles registered in Missouri may have tinting or vision-

 

reducing material applied to the windows to the immediate right and left of the driver, provided that it allows 35% or more light transmitted through the glass. The remaining windows may be tinted as dark as preferred. For complete text of the law, please click here.

Q: Will my vehicle pass a safety inspection with tinting applied to the front windows?
A:
As long as the film allows 35% or more light through the glass.

Q: Are city licenses and parking stickers allowed on the windshield?
A: Yes, labels, stickers, decalcomania and information signs are allowed, provided they do not interfere with the driver's normal view of the road.

Q: Can you tint plexiglass or Lexan.
A:
Not effectively. The tint will stick to the plexiglass/Lexan, but could possibly produce bubbles over time.
